Craigslist Weirdos and Heros

It's supposed to kind of rhyme; weirdos, heros...
I posted something recently and here come the weirdos...blah.
BUT
I responded to a listing...in Colorado (beware of scams, do not etc., etc.).

JACKPOT GIRLS AND BOYS!

These are so fun, they're textile blocks used for printing on fabric usually, but, wait, they work on clay too and I have been lurking and searching around for them (I don't do that Bay website) so it was not easy to find them. Just as a lark I tried craigslist, I didn't really hold out much hope.

BUT, there they were! The woman I purchased them from was super patient with me as I made decisions and she was generous too, anyway, I am now the proud owner of a nice selection of textile blocks. I bought them their own container so they won't get lost.

I plan to send her one of my first experiments; I do like the one in the photo, I hope she will too!

Because I Want Some Good News

Sometimes I just feel like it's time for one of those sweet, tear-jerk moments. Why this particular story would do that, hmmm, well, it did!

What is kind of funny is that I did a Google search for good news and I found some REALLY bizarre stuff, I wouldn't call it good news, weird news perhaps but not very good weird.

Pictured is some sappy happy pottery. Because sometimes only sappy will do, it's yellow, ok? So what?! LOL.

Besides that sappy happy 60's stuff is back, right? Am I becoming a closet-weeping-happy-yellow-loving grandma?

California Advancement for the Ceramic Arts

Well, the show is over folks...actually it was over a few weeks back! Here are some pictures I took of things that caught my attention. The colorful upright vessel is one made by Anna in my class. The others...I didn't catch their names.

Help is Here

I don't think I've posted a photo of this jar I recently made...

I'd rather not be boring about the meaning so; it is what it is.

The California Tour

Driving along Oceana Blvd. in Pacifica I saw people lining the overpass and remembered that the California Tour was speeding through town. I jumped out and grabbed my camera but not my glasses...

So, I took pictures and they stink but I'm going to post them anyway. I tried to put the camera on "action" setting, hmmm, seems I missed the mark, plus I got a nice bit of chain link fence!!
